The Cockroach Races, which started in 1982, are one of Brisbane’s biggest Australia Day events and take place during a street party held right under the iconic Story Bridge and adjacent to the Story Bridge Hotel. In addition to the races there’s live music, DJ’s, food trucks, competitions and of course QIAPB are there to pipe in the cockroaches for each race!

All proceeds from the entry fee, racing and the dunking machine are donated to charity.

Supporting this event has been a longstanding tradition for our pipe band.
