QIAPB has had a long standing connection with the GAA at Willawong, playing at a number of events each year.
The Queensland Gaelic Football & Hurling Association at Willawong is the home of Irish Gaelic Football in Queensland and was originally established in 1982. It originated as a monthly kick-about for mostly Irish ex-pats, who were missing the comradery and familiarity of their national sport. Today the organisation is one of the largest Gaelic football bodies in Australia.
Around Saint Patrick’s Day each year the GAA have a Family Fun day which our pipe band proudly attends and performs at. We also provide a pipe band for various football events during the year to support the Irish community and players who are participating in their traditional Irish sports.
